Christmas Party 2011

Well… it has been another exciting year here at CNDC. We have hosted the largest Dressage Derby in the 10 year history of the show series at the Dressage Center here in Vacaville. With competitors from Arizona to Washington we literality have grown beyond the local borders. Junior and Young riders have qualified at our shows to compete at the national Championships in Kentucky and a number of young horses have used our shows to qualify for Markel/USEF Young Horse Dressage Program and USEF National Developing Horse Dressage Championship. Congratulations!

But CNDC also has to announce some homemade success. Mary Carlquist, now 16 years of age, has won the 2nd level Junior division at the Northern California Junior and Young Rider Championship. With Weltissimo and Wintessa, two 6 year olds horses stabled at CNDC have placed under the top 5 at the Young Horse Futurity (Open division) for California. We are very excited about Wintessa's 5th place as she has been bred, raised, started and trained by us here at the Christiane Noelting Dressage Center. The third major success at the Annual Show was Dreamweaver's 5th place in the 3rd level Open Division. Dreamweaver, just as Weltissimo, has been imported by Christiane as a 3 year old and has been trained by CNDC ever since.

The greatest achievement of 2011 is undoubtedly Watulele's win of the HORSE OF THE YEAR award for 4th level. No horse in the US has a higher median score in 4th level than the 7 year gelding by Wolkenstein II. In all his 16 starts throughout the season in 3rd and 4th level, Watulele has never scored below 70% - a truly remarkable result.

At the end of the year, we have held our traditional Christmas Party where our youngest could show off the skills they acquired over the past year. Besides the Vaulting exhibition we also presented a 4 horse quadrille and a driving performance. You can find the videos of those performances below. Great job by our vaulting group. Every Thursday we meet and practice and as of lately we also switched from a pony to a horse. With only a handful of practices on Buddy (the Quarterhorse) the kids have done an amazing job adjusting to this not very easy change. Moving from a small pony to a regular sized horse is a big step for every rider/ vaulter. We are looking forward to 2012 vaulting program. If you are interested, come and watch the training sessions every Thursday at 6pm at CNDC.

Thanks to Maureen and Roger for bringing the two ponies. Like last year, the carriage driving has been a great program point at our Christmas Party. Many Thanks also for volunteering and offering drives around the property for our parents and visitors after the Christmas Program was over. Many have taken advantage of that opportunity and enjoyed the ride… drive.
