Big Changes to our Dressage Derby Series

Beginning in 2011, we will have five Dressage Shows at the CNDC show ground - all counting toward the Derby Drawing at the last competition in September. Derby I will be held on Friday, May 27 with Derby II following Saturday and Sunday, May 28 & 29. This will allow for an extended weekend of high quality Dressage Competition. You will benefit from the opportunity to earn USDF and CDS qualifying scores at two shows, while conveniently staying just one additional day. Take advantage of the opportunity of saving on expenses like stabling and traveling and be part of the New Dressage Derby.

The same is true for Derby III and Derby IV. The extended weekend in June will feature Derby III on Friday, June 24, followed by Derby IV on Saturday and Sunday, June 25 & 26. At the September  Show, we will have our grand finale of the Dressage Derby Series 2011. Just as in the 11 years before, we will give out a free Schleese Saddle to the winner of the Derby Drawing on September 10th. Additional prizes like, Schleese double bridles, stirrup leathers, saddle pads, halters, Skagen watches, books, photographs etc, adding up to more than $15,000, will be given out to everybody qualifying for the Derby Drawing.

Show dates number 2 and 4 are Official Qualifying Competitions for the FEI North American Junior and Young Riders’ Championships and Collecting Gaits Farm/ USEF National Junior, Young Rider & Brentina Cup Championships, and are Official Qualifying Competitions for the Markel/ USEF Young Horse Dressage Program and USEF National Developing Horse Dressage Championship (sponsored by the Dutta Corp & PSI). >>more

Intensive Dressage Clinics at CNDC

The Christiane Noelting Dressage Center is hosting another “Intensive Dressage Clinic”on March 4th – 7th . Requests from many of Christiane’s students to offer a more intense and educating clinic in preparation for the upcoming show season, including the new USDF test, led to the decision to offer these four-day clinics.

The idea of combining riding, theory, demonstration and fitness training for the rider is adopted from the established way of schooling riders in Germany. Clinics at the state riding schools of Germany, whether they are for jumpers or dressage riders, almost always include theory lessons. Furthermore it is mandatory for the riders at the DOKR (German Olympic Commission for Riding) in Warendorf to participate in the Fitness Program at the end of each day.

We try to apply these ideas in the Intensive Dressage Clinic to further develop not just the riding skills of the participants but also theoretical knowledge, which is a key ability of every rider to improve the daily work and to be more successful as a competitor.

Our “Intensive Dressage Clinics” are available for up to 6 riders only. The clinics are a combination of:

  • 2 riding lessons daily,
  • 2 theory sessions daily,
  • demonstration rides, sport sessions and guest speaker

Lunch and lots of fun will be served daily! Make your reservation early!

Schleese in Northern California

February 19th – 28th

Three times a year, master saddler Jochen Schleese comes to Northern California for a Saddlefit Clinic. Together with Christiane Noelting he travels as far as Chico, San Jose, Napa and Sacramento. During your personal saddle fit session each horse and rider will be guided through the 3 Step Schleese System, encompassing the science of saddle fit and design promoting equine back health. You will learn how a properly fitted saddle contributes to the performance, comfort and welfare of both rider and horse, protecting you both from pain and long-term damage. The Schleese System enables you to reach your true potential, whether competitive or recreational.

Jochen Schleese will work with each client to determine their personal requirements. The comprehensive Schleese System includes:
