American Holsteiner Horse Association - Approvals Tour

Picture
AHHA Approvals are held in the late summer and early fall months of each year at sites across the United States and Canada.  A team of qualified judges, including representatives from the German Holsteiner Verband Commission, visits each site with the goal of evaluating and approving mares and stallions for the breeding books, and to get an overview of the progress of our breeders through foal crop production. These events are always an educational venue for everyone involved and offer not only insight into the breed but opportunities for networking with other local breeders in your area.

Pre-entry of horses into an approvals event is required, and entry forms for each year's tour are posted to the AHHA website in the early summer months.  Eligible mares include AHHA or Verband registered Holsteiner mares.  Mares holding an AHHA Certificate of Pedigree, registered with other warmblood registries in the WBFSH, or Thoroughbred mares holding Jockey Club papers may be considered for approval and entry into the AHHA studbook.  Please contact the AHHA office to see if your Certificate of Pedigree Holsteiner mare or non-Holsteiner mare is eligible for approval. Proof of pedigree via DNA is required for all mares.

Stallions presented for breeding must also meet AHHA age and pedigree requirements or hold an extraordinary sport record for consideration for approval. Please contact the AHHA office to learn more.

Signed Participant Liability Waivers are required for all participants and will be available at the CNDC inspection site. You do not need to mail one to the AHHA office prior to the event.

Stabling must be requested and payment must be sent directly to the site host.
