Robin Connor
[stable manager]
As a child/teenager growing up, she was always asking for a horse every birthday and Christmas. She would search the backyard for that special horse. When most girls were playing with dolls or roller-skating, she was busy running around the yard whinnying like a horse and practicing her walk, trot, and canter steps.
She spent most summers at her cousin’s farm cleaning stalls and riding the trails. Some summers she participated in the Walnut Festival parade in Walnut Creek or the Danville Hay Day’s Parade as a solo entry. One year she received the "Best Dressed Cowgirl" award. Prior to the CNDC position, she spent a few years working at the UC Davis Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital in the Emergency Services Department. Her education of daily care/ nutrition/ proper vaccinations/ worming/ shoeing/ dental care and well being of each horse has broadened working as Stable Manager at the CNDC full scale training facility. Her 23 years here at CNDC, first as a student and then Stable Manager, fulfill all her expectations of the horse world. She loves her job with all the horses and clients and challenges herself to continue learning something new all the time. She finds life is not complete without a horse in it. |
