Working Students |
Here at the Dressage Center, we offer a year round working student program. Our hard working, enthusiastic students help with lots of riding, horse care, some barn duties and assist at horse shows. They have the opportunity to ride different horses under supervision and with ongoing instruction. Depending on the level of the student, they even may show some of the horses at horse shows.
Located only one hour away from the Pacific Ocean and San Francisco and two hours from the ski areas of the Sierra Nevada, our working students can enjoy California at its best. Housing is provided in a fully equipped apartment right on the facility. The space is shared with other working students and AirBnB guests. With special arrangements, it is possible for a student to bring his/her own horse. We are a non-smoking barn.

We found these two articles quite informative. Even though not all the details may be applicable the working student (WS) position at CNDC, the articles are still a great read for anyone considering to take up a WS-position.
"During my 12 month stay at the Dressage Center I was given the opportunity to learn many new skills about working with horses. I feel the knowledge I gained about the education and welfare of horses; whilst a working student with Christiane Noelting will be an asset to me throughout my career. Each day at the center presented the opportunity to learn from different professionals in their chosen fields. Not only did I learn so much during my time there but I also had the fortune to meet some wonderful people. If anyone is interested in working with horses in a professional barn with a fantastic group of people then I highly recommend the CNDC Working Student Program." |
